Parade Rules

For All Units

Reasonable Decorum

The 4th of July Parade is a community celebration, reasonable decorum is expected from all parade participants at all times. All amplification must be approved by the committee prior to use and the Committee reserves the right to remove any unit from the parade at any time.

No Distribution of Materials

Per Hamilton Police Department guidelines, distribution of any materials (including candy, flyers, balloons, buttons, stickers, or toys) is strictly prohibited.

Limit Sirens & Air Horns

Sirens and air horns exceed 120 decibels and are extremely loud. Please use them sparingly, especially near crowds and the TV Hamilton camera area.

Political Candidate Participation

Only individuals currently holding public office in Butler County or actively running, with certified petition, for office in Butler County are permitted to participate.

We ask all participants to honor the non-partisan spirit of this national celebration by limiting campaign-related signage, apparel, and overtly political content. Please avoid language such as “VOTE FOR” or “ELECT,” and refrain from using large vehicle wraps or oversized promotional displays. For individuals currently in office or running for office, modest identification of the position held or sought is acceptable. All parade units should aim to reflect the spirit of a patriotic float—not a walking billboard.

If your unit cannot follow these rules or if you have any questions, you must contact the committee prior to the parade. These rules are in place for the safety of all spectators. Thank you.
